We're Donating 10% All Weekend
Help us support the important work of local school garden organization Garden to Table as they adapt to the realities of COVID-19. Since the pandemic began, Garden to Table has been diverting produce from their school gardens across the county to local food banks, keeping these gardens thriving with limited staff, and reworking their educational programs for home learning.
Order through ScratchKitchen.com this weekend, November 6th-8th, and we'll donate 10% to Garden to Table!
Meet Garden to Table
|Garden to Table is growing food for our community and providing virtual video lessons for parents and teachers who are instructing at home this year. Prior to COVID-19, Garden to Table managed garden creations with students in nineteen Boulder County Schools. Their program allows teachers to instruct their Colorado certified lesson plans outside in a beautiful, organic garden. This helps children ages Pre-K through 5th grade learn math, measuring, science, gardening, healthy eating and allows them to get more time outside in the fresh air during their school days.|
A Pandemic Shifts Focus
Since the pandemic hit, the students have not been able to participate on campus. Garden To Table has quickly adapted and spent the year expanding its online resources for Pre K-5th grade levels. These are available to all homeschool families and all BVSD elementary schools. In the meantime, the GTT team has planted, maintained, and harvested a wide variety of nutrient-dense vegetables at all the school gardens. As of mid-October, they've donated over 6,000 pounds of fresh produce to food banks in Boulder County!
New Challenges Need New Partners
In addition to all Garden to Table is working on for students, parents, teachers, and the community, they're ensuring our local schools will have stunning garden spaces to return to as outdoor learning resumes. The G2T team has been working extra hard to maintain and sustain onsite gardens and to create free virtual education programs online. These enormous efforts have been straining the G2T budget, so in order to support this incredible Boulder-grown initiative, we will be donating 10% of our proceeds this coming weekend!
